Q. What time is check in and check out at Carp Somnium?

Guests must be packed up and ready to leave for 11am. New arrivals and check in’s can arrive at the lake from 1pm.

Q. Do you offer a food option at Carp Somnium?

Yes. You can reserve your food package for the week directly through the website. The food package consists of breakfast and dinner for your weekly stay with us.

Q. How do we choose our swims?

Carp Somnium is a complete exclusive lake booking. So, you can choose between yourselves. The lake consists of two double swims and two single swims.

Q. Can you book for a long weekend?

Sorry, we only provide exclusive booking for a full week’s fishing.

Q. How many rods can I use at Carp Somnium?

Three rods per angler.

Q. Is there electricity on the lakes?

Yes, we have a lodge/cabin where you will be able to charge your appliances.

Q. Do you have freezers on site?

No we don’t have any freezers, but we do have a fridge in the cabin/lodge where you can keep food and drinks cold.

Q. Are the shops far away?

There is a local Supermarche 10 mins from the lakes with a McDonalds next door. These are open 7 days a week. We also have a small convenient shop which is a 2 minute drive from the lake and is also in walking distance.

Q. How do I order my bait at Carp Somnium?

You can order your bait directly online through the website. We can always supply extra if you run out. All the particles must be prepared and cooked from fresh so please allow time.

Q. Can I pay for things in Sterling when I arrive?

As you are in France all things must be paid for in Euros.

Q. Will I have to pay any toll fees?

Yes, on the 1hr 20min drive from Calais you will go on 1 toll road and the cost varies from 10-15 euros depending on the size of your vehicle.

Q. Do I have to leave my car in the car park?

Yes, strictly no driving round the lake.

​

Q. Can I bring a gas cooker or BBQ and cook for myself?

No problem at all. Make sure the authorities don't see your gas bottle at the ports.

Q. What hooks are allowed?

The rules are Micro barbed hooks only.

​

Q. Can I use lead core or leaders?

No they are banned. We request that you use tubing.

​

Q. If I fall sick is anyone able to help me?

Of course, we will ensure our guests are supported and taken care of with trips to Doctors or Hospital. We can also help with translation.

Q. Can I bring over my own Particle baits?

You may only use particle baits provided by us on any of the lakes. This ensures that the fish stocks are protected from incorrectly prepared particles.

Q. Can I bring my Dog with me?

We do not allow dogs on site.
